Gaghan Mechanical, Inc.’s CEO, Kevin Gaghan is the fourth generation of Gaghan to found and operate a mechanical contracting firm in the DC metropolitan area. Kevin’s Great Grandfather, Michael Gaghan, was a founding member of Plumber’s Local Union #5 and started his own company in the 1890’s. Kevin’s Grandfather, James F. Gaghan, founded a firm in the 1920’s and did extensive work for People’s Drugstore, now known as CVS. Kevin’s Father, James Gaghan Sr. founded Gaghan Plumbing in the 1960’s.
Kevin Gaghan spent 14 years with Boland Trane before establishing Gaghan Mechanical Inc. in 1996. Gaghan’s first customers were Security Capital Trust, now known as Prologis, House of Doors, and Dyncorp. Kevin started as the company’s lone employee. Gaghan Mechanical, Inc. started strictly as a service only company. Kevin’s contacts through teaching with Trane gave him a basis of relationships that would aid him in obtaining future service contacts. In 2002, Gaghan Mechanical began construction projects in addition to providing services. In 2005 Gaghan Mechanical, Inc decided to fully commit to a construction branch with full time employees.
